PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY
INFLATABLE SAFETY GUIDELINES
FOR SUPERVISORS/Competent persons / HIRERS OF INFLATABLES
IF YOU ARE NOT USING OUR STAFF TO SUPERVISE PLEASE ENSURE YOU RECEIVE AN INDUCTION ON THE DAY OF INSTALLATION AS TO HOW TO USE OUR PRODUCTS FROM OUR GROUND CREW OR CALL THE OFFICE IMMEDIATELY.
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………
1. Supervision
of children on an inflatable must be by a competent person preferably at least 18 years of age. The supervisor/competent person must be in attendance at all times during the duration of the hire. If we are not supervising you are expected to appoint someone to do so and to read the below safety guidelines, watch our safety monitors video and read our stay safe guidelines which explains what to do in windy conditions. Please let us know if the links above do not work. Please also read the following safety guidelines:
2. The supervisor must ensure that an appropriate mix of persons participate at any one time. ie, matched in weight or age. This is to ensure larger participants do not fall or injure the smaller ones
3. The supervisor should ensure all patrons are using the inflatable safely. For example but not limited to: No summersaults, No back flips, No bouncing off walls and hitting other patrons. Feet first down the slide and only when the slide is clear of patrons.
4.Keep
children clear from the back of the inflatable at all times so there is no temptation for
them to touch the blower or detach the power supply plugs whether deliberately or accidental.
5. Do Not let the participants hang over the sides of jumping castles as they may fall out causing injury. Hanging over the side will distort the inflatable which may in turn cause participants to become caught in the corners of the inflatable.
6. Jumping castles and slides with pools must never be left unsupervised. If you need to leave the castle unsupervised you must turn off the water tap and either empty the pool or ensure that secure child proof fencing is placed around the pool area. Children can and have drowned in less than 10cm of water. It is imperative that children of all ages are closely monitored around water at all times. If laws require fencing it is your responsibility to ensure fencing is installed around the pool area.
7. Patrons are not to linger at the top of the water slide and at no time is there to be more than 2 patrons at the top of the slide at any one time and not more than one person on the stairs at any time as someone could slip down the stairs and cause a domino affect. The water supply must not come from a hydrant as the pressure is too much and may cause the slide to deflate. Water supply should only be sourced from a domestic tap and simply trickle down the slide.
8. The supervisor/competent person must check the inflatable for safety throughout the duration of the hirer. This includes checking for rubbish or discarded objects that may injure a patron or damage the inflatable, Check that all zippers and velcro connections remain secure and that there is no potential disruption to the power supply by ensuring the secure connection of the power cords. The blower can also suck plastic bags over the air in take (on the side of the blower) so please check this and remove anything that may affect the performance of the blower.
9. Our drivers/installers will anchor the inflatable by either heavy pegs or anchors on each side by tying rope to a secure fence, other permanent structure or to weight bags.
10. The inflatable should be held down securely at all times whilst in operation. If any part of the holding down system becomes detached, it is the supervisor/competent person's responsibility to clear all riders from the inflatable (and, if necessary, deflate it) until such time it can be securely restrained /anchored.
Our inflatables cannot be used in winds over 29km per hour. We use the following to work out when to deflate:
On Land If near water means the wind raises dust and loose paper, small branches are moving. If near the sea small waves becoming longer and fairly frequent white horses. In the majority of times we will leave you with a wind meter to regularly check the wind conditions during the day. Ask our installer to show you how to use it. RECORD THE WIND EVERY 5 MINUTES IF IT REACHES 20 KM PER HOUR AND EVACUATE THE INFLATABLE AS SOON AS THE WIND HITS 29 KM PER HOUR.
When the above wind conditions occur please remove all patrons from the inflatable and deflate. Do not inflate until the wind subsides. To check the forecast for wind conditions we use www.windwillyweather.com.au. We take no responsibility if you do not adhere to the above requirements.
11. No
shoes / food or drink is allowed on the inflatable and smoking is not allowed
on or near the inflatable. Do not set up a barbecue or any other heating device near the inflatable.
12. Streamers,
poppers or silly string are NOT allowed on or near the inflatable as they can cause injury and may stain
the vinyl. If damage is found within
seven (7) days of the booking date the client / customer will be held liable
for repairs and be charged a minimum of $500 to cover the repair costs.
13. When
the children are getting off an inflatable they should slide off the front, not jump.
14. If
damage is done to the inflatable as a result of misuse by an adult you will be
liable for the cost of the repair and any other costs associated in repairing
the castle.
15. Persons/Patrons
aged 18 years and over are required to sign Disclaimer Forms before
participating on any inflatable amusement.
For backyard parties where we are not supervising, the client will not
hold Bubbling With Energy liable for any injury to participants or to property.
16 Pool
Inflatable's: A qualified Lifeguard provided by you,
with a minimum of a Bronze Medallion must be in attendance and supervising all
participants, on and around the pool inflatable at all times.
TROUBLE SHOOTING INFLATABLE - Call the office on 98298929 if you have an issue after doing the following:
If it's deflating or not inflating enough. FIRSTLY remove all patrons from the inflatable by holding the entrance/exit up (where applicable) and allowing the patrons to crawl out feet first. Then check the following:
- Ensure all zippers and flaps are secure. These should be securely closed. These are on the sides, back and sometimes on the bottom of the inflatable.
- Check to see if the fan at the back is operating. If it seems that the fan is not strong enough, turn it off for 10 minutes. After that, turn it back on. This will ensure that the fan propellers are going in the correct direction.
- Check that the cone on the fan/blower is secure
- Check that the chute to the fan at the back is straight and not kinked which allows air to flow into the castle and that the chute is tight around the mouth of the blower.
- Check that the power outlet source is working with another appliance. This helps in isolating the issue.
Issues with Motor (fan):
- Electricity keeps on tripping when the motor is switched on.
- Motor starts but cuts out
Do the following to eliminate possible causes and solve the problem:
- Take motor and plug directly into the power source (no extension or other plugs).
- Take motor to another power source and plug.
- Plug motor into power source – ensure that no other appliances use the same plug/line.
Petrol Blowers/Generators
- To avoid deflation check the fuel level every hour. If in need of a refuel remove all patrons form the inflatable before refueling.Turn off before refueling. Be careful not to spill fuel or overfill fuel tank.
- Check that the cone on the petrol blower is still secure.
Please note:
- It is normal that bubbles and air escape from the seams.
- Small holes are not a problem. If you can put your hand or foot in a hole, please call but please do not place your hand or foot in the hole of course.
